New "Continental LIVE!" visitor center uses VUFRAME® technology

On Tuesday, December 4, Continental opened the new visitor center "Continental LIVE!" in Regensburg. At the corporation's largest automotive location worldwide, visitors will in future be able to experience the innovative developments and products virtually and in augmented reality (AR) over an area of just under 300 square meters.

On the opening day, site and plant manager Thomas Ebenhöch was joined by guests from the worlds of politics, science and business. Together with Regensburg's mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer, the deputy district administrator Willibald Hogger was also welcomed. Also invited to the opening ceremony were Andreas Zeitler and Andreas Dörfler from Vuframe, who answered the many questions about the technology on site. "Continental and Vuframe will further expand their cooperation from 2019 onwards in order to enable visitors to experience Continental's entire portfolio of products and services," said Managing Director Andreas Zeitler during the opening ceremony.

"Continental LIVE!" - stands for Lively, Innovative, Diverse and Successful.

"With the visitor center, Continental wants to make the highlights that the site has to offer tangible and accessible," said site and plant manager Thomas Ebenhöch. "The name 'LIVE!" stands for the four central characteristics of the Regensburg location and corporate culture. Especially against the backdrop of technological change, these qualities are a decisive strength," Thomas Ebenhöch told us.

"Continental and Vuframe will intensify and further expand their joint cooperation next year [...]"

In the search to present their own products, services and processes visually and, above all, virtually, the choice fell on the VUFRAME® software. With the help of the central platform, any number of products can be fed in, centrally managed, and then played out as interactive views on all devices and systems. In the new visitor center, these views, called Smartviews, can be displayed on large touch screens as well as tablet devices. "The common goal was to show components and processes from the portfolio to every visitor in an end-user-friendly way and in as impressive a way as possible, and to make it possible to experience them," Andreas Zeitler concluded.
